Oncology
Pulaski Memorial Oncology is affiliated with the American Health Network of Indianapolis. Two medical oncologists, Laurence Bates, M.D., and Michael Slaughter, M.D., are on staff with Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
Both Dr. Bates and Dr. Slaughter are board certified in oncology and hematology.
We offer the following:
- Onsite Chemotherapy, Biotherapy, and Immunotherapy
- Cancervive Support Group
- Client & Family Counseling
- Emotional & Psychological Support
- Full Library on Cancer by Diagnosis
- Grief Counseling: One-On-One or Group Support
- Nutritional & Exercise Counseling to Patient in Treatment
- Assistance with Radiation Therapy referrals
PMH is closely affiliated with the American Cancer Society (ACS) at local and national levels. Through this organization local cancer survivors receive specialized certification from the ACS to orchestrate indiviual programs. These programs are:
- ACS Counseling
-Patient and family counseling for cancer related issues
-Available upon request
- ACS Look Good Feel Better
-Appearance related issues for cancer patients by a trained cosmetologist
-Call for scheduled events
- ACS Man to Man
-Trained volunteers to visit men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer
-Call for information
- ACS Reach for Recovery
-Trained volunteers to visit women who have undergone a mastectomy
-Call for information
- ACS Road to Recovery
-Trained volunteers transport patients to cancer related appointments
-Call for information
- ACS Medical Equipment
-Assistance provided for obtaining medical equipment for home use

-Books and videos on cancer related issues
